Amazon may get more attention for its higher-end Echo speakers, like the Echo Studio and therefore the new 4th Gen Echo, but the standard Echo Dot is far and away the foremost popular speaker within the lineup. The 3rd Gen model was released in 2018, and has proven to be a superb little smart speaker, and with Amazon’s frequent and aggressive sales, you'll pick one up for a song, making it easy to place the Alexa voice assistant in every room of your home.

So it’s no surprise that alongside the large redesign to the 4th Gen Echo, Amazon has also redesigned the Echo Dot. Here Comes Another Round Of Console Wars as Microsoft XBox and Sony Playstation Prepare To Release New Systems...

First, let's talk about PlayStation 4 vs. Xbox One. As you may have guessed, Sony had the advantage in terms of consoles, but what does the PlayStation 4 bring to those platforms?

The most obvious improvement by far is the inclusion of 4K resolution. The standard for delivering high definition television image and gameplay content on PlayStation 4 is 4K. The Xbox One, on the other hand, only has 2D, and as such, it cannot deliver the high-definition picture of 4K.

And even with all of the differences, the PlayStation 4 can still give you the same gaming experience that you're already used to.

That's because the DualShock 4 is included with each system, and that alone isn't enough.

The PS4 also has an exclusive mode that allows people to experience their favorite online multiplayer games, so if you want to play Titanfall or FIFA 14 (both of which would be perfect on a PS4), you can do so.

What we all have to remember is that not every online multiplayer game is going to launch on Xbox One and PS4.

For example, there's the Battle Royale mode of FIFA 14 which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. That's because in the console market, it's hard to have a multiplayer online shooter that doesn't also support online multiplayer.

For example, we've all played Battlefield 4 online. And in the Battlefield world, this makes perfect sense. Battlefield 4 has been around for two years, and there are other console battles, which also are going to launch on PlayStation 4.

For us, Battlefield 4 is probably the game that everyone knows will be exclusive to PS4. Now, what would be the case if Microsoft and Sony added an online multiplayer mode into the console that gamers wanted to play on PC?

We'd probably all go ahead and buy a PlayStation Then you might see a similar situation occur on PC.

While the Xbox was is the first game to ship with 4K, there are other titles expected to launch next year. Most likely, we'll see the likes of The Sims 4, Minecraft, and Gran Turismo Sport as 4K releases.

Smartphones: How We ALL Became Addicted...

It wasn’t too long ago when smartphones were first introduced. But, they have quickly become a basic necessity in the lives of millions of people across the globe.

Let’s be honest. Who can imagine their life without their smartphone in their hands? It didn’t really take that long for these devices to become an integral and essential part of day to day life. It was revealed that half of the world’s population use smartphones right now.

But, how did these handy devices change how people do things?

A decade ago, people didn’t even think that it was possible to use a mobile device to talk with another person. Now, it has become common to engage in all kinds of conversations using their phone’s built-in personal assistants. From getting recommendations for the best dining spots in the city, getting directions to the nearest hospital, ordering chocolates online for their special someone to dictating emails, smartphones and their integrated assistants can pretty much do anything and everything under the sun.

People today can no longer imagine their lives without their smartphones by their side. These devices have evolved to the point that they are no longer just a mere tool for communication but also a constant companion that helps cater to your unique needs while making your life so much easier and simpler. You can choose from millions of apps and download those that are useful and interesting for you, such as apps to remind you of important appointments, build websites, edit photos and videos, track your health and control your connected smart appliances.

Doing business using your mobile devices has also gone beyond spending time in a coffee shop and making endless calls. Invoicing, design, emails, and online research have all become possible today. Capturing videos and images even while on the go has also been made easier while integrated security features make it safe to conduct business no matter where you are. In the field of education, learners don’t just get to access the internet but can even reach out to the best teachers and professionals in the world with just the use of their smartphones.

Half of the users of smartphones use the device to access the different health-related services. Whether they use apps to verify prescriptions or monitor glucose levels, use the device to find healthy recipes or make it their personal fitness tracker, smartphones have affected how people deal with their health and wellness.

But even with the incredible technology that pretty much puts the whole world right in your hands, the truth is that the evolution of smartphones still remains to be in its infancy. This is because technological innovations are still moving forward and beyond with the giant names in the industry leading the race as they to address and cater to the needs and desires of the users today and in the future.

So, the next time you look at your smartphone, don’t forget that there is so much more to it than just being a device to help you check your social media accounts or take photos.

Zoom Re-Ignites The Battle Of The Video Conference Platforms...

The Zoom explosion shows that video and voice communication is really just starting to catch on. But what will end up being the platform everyone agrees upon using?

"It has to go into video chat," said Dan Goodin, co-founder of Skype's video and voice division and the former CEO of Skype. "A Skype group will be like any group chat. You could do voice at 1 million people, but not voice at all?" For Facebook, said Peter Kafka, Skype's vice president for engineering and product: "We want to have video in the first couple of years."

The other big question is how the two major players will deal with video-on-demand. Skype, which has an app for iOS and Android, has said video streaming will be in "beta" on Android by the end of the year. The question, though, is whether this includes live-streaming for people who are not signed into Facebook. Skype does provide video calling, but only within the live channel — it doesn't go live with footage. (Facebook has said only in-app video calling will be live.)

Facebook and Google say their videos will include live-streaming and all the other features needed to bring Facebook video streaming to the masses. And as with Facebook's other video offerings on the Web, Facebook wants to make sure it's not an expensive app to access.

"It's going to be one of the most expensive video products out on the market," said Kafka. "We're going to build in video ads to monetize that. There will be a lot more than is out right now on the Facebook app."

There is a major barrier to Facebook video. Facebook's mobile application is limited by the number of users in the app's video chat channel. The company believes it can add live streaming of live video to the app soon. The other major player trying to add live to YouTube is Facebook's own video app in a browser, though it won't make it immediately available to download. Instead, the company will test it on Facebook by showing a live video of something at its Facebook page.
